Walker’s Chicken Salad Recalled for Undeclared Soy

Walker’s Food Products in Missouri is recalling 2,200 pounds of chicken salad because of misbranding and undeclared soy, one of the major food allergens. No reports of adverse reactions have been reported to date.

Chicken Salad FPBThe recalled products are 5-pound plastic tubs of “Walker’s All White Chunky Chicken Salad” with packaging dates between June 6, 2013 and January 23, 2014 and use by/sell by dates between July 26, 2013 and March 14, 2014. It was sold to wholesale locations in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

Also recalled are 1-pound plastic tubs of “Walker’s All White Chunky Chicken Salad” with packaging dates between June 6, 2013 and January 23, 2014 and use by/sell by dates between July 26, 2013 and March 14, 2014. It was sold to retail locations in Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

Finally, 5-pound tubs of “Walker’s White Chicken Salad Florentine” with packaging dates between June 6, 2013 and January 27, 2014, and use by/sell by dates between July 14, 2013 and March 6, 2014 are recalled. It was sold to wholesale locations for distribution in Kansas and Missouri.

The products have the establishment number “P-13335” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The problem was discovered by an FSIS in-plant inspector during a routine label review. If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy, return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
