O’Coconut Products Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Nutiva, an Organic Superfoods company, is voluntarily recalling some O’Coconut products because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. There is no word on whether or not any illnesses have been reported.

The recalled products are O’Coconut Classic in Singles/Bag of 8 with UPC number 6-92752-10558-6, Lot code 18FEB15L, and expiration date 18FEB16. Also recalled is O’Coconut Hemp & Chia in Singles/Caddy of 24, with UPC number 6-92752-10386-5, lot code 24FEB15L, and expiration date 24FEB16. Finally, O’Coconut Classic in Singles/Caddy of 24 is recalled. The UPC number is 6-92752-10385-8, the lot code is 20FEB15L, and the expiration date 20FEB16. The last two items were distributed via Nutiva.com or as samples only. You can see pictures of product labels at the FDA web site.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a sealed container or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the product.
