American Gourmet of Vista, CA is recalling American Gourmet Roasted/Salted Pistachios because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. Consumers who have purchase these nuts should not eat them.
American Gourmet was notified of the problem by its pistachio supplier. There have been a number of other pistachio recalls.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal illness. Those most at risk are young children, frail or elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea that can be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
