General Mills E. coli Flour Recall Roundup

The E. coli O121 and O26 outbreak linked to recalled General Mills flour has many people concerned. Since flour is such a ubiquitous product, any kitchen in the country could contain some flour that has been recalled. We have gathered all of the General Mills flour recalls and secondary recalls here so you can have one resource to make sure your kitchen is safe. We will keep this list updated.

General Mills E. coli Flour

The first recall was issued on May 31, 2016. These are the products that were recalled at that time:

Wondra flour was sold in 13.5 ounce containers with UPC 000-16000-18980 number and Better if Used by Dates 25FEB2017 thru 30MAR2017.

The recalled Gold Medal All Purpose flour was sold in 2-pound packages with the UPC number 000-16000-10710 and  Better if Used by Dates 25MAY2017KC thru 03JUN2017KC; 5 pound bags with UPC number 000-16000-10610 and Better if Used by Dates 25MAY2017KC, 27MAY2017KC thru 31MAY2017KC, 01JUN2017KC, 03JUN2017KC thru 05JUN2017KC, 11JUN2017KC thru 14JUN2017KC; 10 pound bags with UPC number 000-16000-10410 and Better if Used by Dates 02JUN2017KC,03JUN2017KC; and 10 pound Banded Packs with UPC number 000-16000-10410 and Better if Used by Dates 03JUN2017KC, 04JUN2017KC, 05JUN2017KC.

The recalled 5 pound bags of Gold Medal Unbleached Flour have the UPC number 000-16000-19610 and Better if Used by Dates 25MAY2017KC, 27MAY2017KC, 03JUN2017KC, 04JUN2017KC.

And the recalled 2 pound bags of Gold Medal Self Rising Flour have the UPC number 000-16000-11710 and Better if Used by Dates 23AUG2016KC.

The recalled 5 pound bags of  Signature Kitchens All Purpose Flour Enriched Bleached have the UPC number 000-21130-5300 and Better if Used by Dates BB MAY 28 2017.

The recalled 5 pound bags of Signature Kitchens Unbleached Flour All Purpose Enriched have the UPC number 000-21130-53022 and Better if Used by Dates BB MAY 27 2017.

The second recall on July 1, 2016 expanded the recalled products to include more production dates.

That recall included 8 SKUs (stock keeping units or UPC codes) of Gold Medal Flour, 1 SKU of Signature Kitchens Flour and 1 SKU of Gold Medal Wondra flour. They are:

The second recall expansion on July 25, 2016 was issued after more people were sickened in the multistate outbreak. Those products, UPC numbers, and better if used by dates are:

Gold Medal Wondra flour in 13.5 ounce packages, with UPC number 000-16000-18980 and Better if Used by Date of 14MAY2017PK. Also recalled is 2 pound packages of Gold Medal All Purpose Flour with UPC number 000-16000-10710 and Better if Used by Dates of 18JUN2017KC, 01AUG2017KC, 13AUG2017KC through 21AUG2017KC.

Ten pound bags of Gold Medal All Purpose Flour are recalled, with UPC number 000-16000-10410 and Better if Used by Dates of 18JUN2017KC and 01AUG2017KC. Five pound bags of Gold Medal All Purpose Flour with UPC number 000-16000-10610 are recalled, with Better if Used by Dates of 18JUN2017KC, 01AUG2017KC, and 13AUG2017KC through  21AUG2017KC.

Five pound bags of Gold Medal Self Rising Flour with UPC number 000-16000-11610 and Better if Used by Date of 27OCT2016KC are recalled. Gold Medal All Purpose Flour in 4.25 pound packages is recalled, with UPC number 000-16000-12670 and Better if Used by Dates of 01AUG2017KC, 19AUG2017KC, 20AUG2017KC, and 21AUG2017KC. Five pound packages of Gold Medal Unbleached Flour with UPC number  000-16000-19610 and Better if Used by Dates of 01AUG2017KC, 14AUG2017KC, 15AUG2017KC, 16AUG2017KC, 17AUG2017KC, 19AUG2017KC, and 20AUG2017KC are recalled.

Two pound packages of Signature Kitchens All Purpose Flour Enriched Bleached are recalled, with UPC number 000-21130-53000 and Better if Used by Dates of BB 15 AUG 2017 and BB 16 AUG 2017. Finally, 5 pound bags of Signature Kitchens Unbleached Flour All Purpose Enriched are recalled, with UPC number 000-21130-53022 and Better if Used by Date of BB 01 AUG 2017.

Secondary recalls of products that were made with General Mills flour have also been issued. They include:

Two flavors of Betty Crocker cake mix were recalled on July 11, 2016: Delights Super Moist Party Rainbow Chip Cake Mix. The UPC number is 000-16000-40997, and the Better if Used by Dates are 25MAR2017, 28MAR2017, 27APR2017, 28APR2017, 23MAY2017, 24MAY2017, and 25MAY2017. The second product recalled is Betty Crockpot Delights Super Moist Carrot Cake Mix. The UPC number for that product is 000-16000-40987 and the Better if Used by Dates are 12APR2017, 13APR2017, 14APR2017, 28MAY2017, 29MAY2017, 30MAY2017, 07JUL2017, and 08JUL2017.

Kabob’s Acquisition recalled not-ready-to-eat meat and poultry products that were made with recalled General Mills flour on July 8, 2016. Those products included meat in puff pastry, Chicken and cheese in pastry, fritters, and other foods. Golden Dipt Jalapeno Breader was also recalled in the U.S. on July 13, 2015. And Marie Callendar’s Cheese Biscuit Mix was recalled for possible E. coli contamination on July 14, 2015. Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix was recalled on July 10, 2016 because it was also made with General Mills flour.

In Canada, Betty Crocker cake mixes were recalled on July 12, 2016, and Golden Dipt Jalapeno Breader was recalled in that country on July 15, 206. Both products were made with recalled General Mills flour.
