Piccadilly Recalls Shepherd’s Pie for Undeclared Fish

Piccadilly Fine Foods of California is recalling about 144 pounds of beef Shepherd’s pie because it contains Worcestershire sauce made with anchovies (fish), one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to fish could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled products are 4 cases of 8 ounce plastic sealed packages containing “Beef Shepherd’s Pie with Vegetables, Made with Beef Chuck Steak.” The case and lot code is 295-16 and the package date is 10/21/2016. Also recalled is 8 cases of 8 ounce plastic sealed packages containing “Beef Shepherd’s Pie with Vegetables, Made with Beef Chuck Steak,” with case and lot code 274-16 and a package date of 9/30/2016. The products have the establishment number “EST. 9216” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were produced on September 29, 2016 and October 20, 2016 and were shipped to retail locations in California.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to fish, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
