Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars Recalled for Foreign Material

Leclerc Foods is voluntarily recalling a single lot of Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars as a measure of precaution because a small piece of yellow plastic, or foreign material, was found in the product by a consumer. This could pose a choking hazard. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

The recalled product is Fit & Active Chocolatey Chip Protein Meal Bars in 9.5 ounce boxes. There are six bars in each box. The date code can be found printed in white on the top of the box. The “best by” date of May 24, 2018 is the only date code that is part of this particular recall. The product has a UPC number of 41498-18695.

These protein meal bars were distributed in ALDI stores in 21 states. Those states where the bars were sold are: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.
