Secondary Salmonella Recalls of Products Made with Dry Milk

There have been more than two dozen secondary recalls of products for possible Salmonella contamination in the past month. They all have something in common: they were made with powdered milk products that have been recalled for the possibility of contamination.

We are gathering all of the recalls in one place so you can refer to them easily. This list will be updated every time another product is added.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. If you did eat any of these products and have been sick with the symptoms of Salmonella food poisoning, see your doctor. Return these products to the store or throw them out if you purchased them.

The original recall was for Valley Milk Products nonfat dry milk powder and sweet cream buttermilk powder. Those products were sold to brokers, who sold them to bakeries and food manufacturers.

Hy Vee recalled candy products made by the Palmer Candy Company on January 12, 2016.

Dutch Valley Snack Mix recalled its Cappuccino Snack Mix on January 12, 2016 for possible Salmonella contamination.

Tupperware recalled Southwest Chipotle Seasoning on January 11, 2017.

Palmer Candy Company recalls some of its products for possible Salmonella contamination on January 9, 2017.

My Mix Grab n’ Go Chocolate Pretzel Hearts were recalled in Canada on January 9, 2017.

Hostess Brands recalled Limited Edition Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies for possible Salmonella contamination on January 9, 2017.

Mikesell’s recalled their Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips on December 29, 2016.

TreeHouse Foods amended the best by dates on its recalled macaroni and cheese cup products on December 28, 2016.

Southeastern Mills recalls lots of mixes for possible Salmonella contamination on December 23, 2016.

Bickel’s Snack Foods recalled all Sour Cream & Onion Flavored Potato Chips sold under various brand names that were made with powdered milk on December 22, 2016.

Pork Rinds & Snacks recalled pork skin products because they were made with Valley Milk milk powders on December 22, 2016.

Route 11 Sour Cream & Chive Potato Chips were recalled on December 22, 2016 for possible Salmonella contamination.

Dawn Food Products recalled some bakery mix products for possible Salmonella contamination on December 21, 2016. This was a recall for wholesale customers.

House-Autry Mills recalled their Buttermilk Cornbread Mix, Biscuit Mix, and Cheese Biscuit Mix on December 21, 2016 for possible Salmonella contamination.

Dieffenbach’s recalled their Sour Cream and Onion Potato Chips on December 21, 2016.

Herrs recalled their Chipotle-Flavored Potato Chips on December 20, 2016.

Snyder of Berlin recalled Buffalo Blue Kettle Cooked Potato Chips for possible Salmonella contamination on December 19, 2016.

William Sonoma recalled its Meyer Lemon Poppy Quick Bread for possible Salmonella contamination on December 17, 2106.

The Blue Cheese Savory Twists made by Houdini Inc. were packaged into many brands of gift baskets and recalled on December 16, 2016.

Houdini Inc. recalled some of its Blue Cheese Savory Twists on December 16, 2016 because they were made with recalled powdered buttermilk.

Ron’s Home Style Foods recalled Tropical Fruit Supreme, Pineapple Nut Delight, and Pistachio Creme on December 15, 2016.

Albertsons and Safeway in Oregon, Washington, and southern Idaho recalled bakery products on December 15, 2016.

New Hope Mills expanded their recall of some of their Crepe Mix on December 15, 2016.

Giant recalled Simply Enjoy Choc Topped Mini Elcairs and Cream Puffs on December 14, 2016.

Old Dutch, Lunds & Byerlys, Roundy’s and Urge brand potato chips were recalled on December 14, 2016.

Brand Castle recalled In the Mix Monkey Bread Mix on December 12, 2016.

Fourth Street Barbecue, Inc. recalled Cheese Club and Double Takes mac and cheese dinner cups for possible Salmonella contamination on December 12, 2016.

New Hope Mills recalled their Crepe Mix for possible Salmonella contamination on December 12, 2016.

Deep River Snacks recalled Sour Cream and Onion Kettle Chips in Canada on December 12, 2016.

Deep River issued their own recall for their Sour Cream and Onion Kettle Chips on December 10, 2016.

Shearer’s Foods recalled Deep River Sour Cream and Onion Kettle Chips, Delish Jalapeño White Cheddar Kettle Chip, Larry the Cable Guy Biscuits & Gravy Potato Chips and Jalapeño Popper Potato Chips, and Essential Everyday Nacho Tortillas on December 10, 2016.

Stonewall Kitchen recalled several flavors of their pancake and waffle mixes for possible Salmonella contamination on December 8, 2016.

Publix Premium recalled their pancake and waffle mixes on December 8, 2016.
