Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat Bread Recalled for Allergen

Athens Baking Company is voluntarily recalling Trader Joe’s Harvest Whole Wheat Bread because it contains undeclared cultured whey, which is made from milk. Anyone who is allergic to milk or who is lactose intolerant could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Trader Joe’s Harvest Whole Wheat Bread with SKU 00132, and best by dates 01/08/17 through 01/27/17. The best by date is printed on the front of the product package. This bread was sold in Trader Joe’s stores in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. Trader Joe’s stores in the Pacific Northwest, South, Midwest and East Coast are NOT affected by this recall.

The product with the affected codes received incorrect packaging. All products have been reported from store shelves. If you bought this product and you cannot eat milk, do not eat it. Throw it away or take it back to any Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.
