Recalls of Products by Whole Foods and Palmer Candy Company for Undeclared Nuts

There are two recalls today for products that were made with undeclared nuts. Whole Foods Market is recalling Cheesecake Bars for undeclared almonds, and Palmer Candy Company is recalling Sea Salt Caramel Hearts for undeclared peanuts.

Anyone who is allergic to tree nuts and/or peanuts could have a serious reaction if they eat either of these products. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with either of these recalls.

The Palmer Candy Company is recalling Sea Salt Caramel Hearts that were sold only at Bomgaards Supply Store in the midwest U.S. The recalled product is Sea Salt Caramel Hearts in a 12 ounce tub. The best by date on the product is 12/21/18, and the UPC number is 77232-17091. It was sold in Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wyoming, and Colorado.

Sea Salt Caramel Hearts Recall

The second recall is for Whole Foods Market Cheesecake Bars for undeclared almond flour. This product was sold in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The products have been removed from store shelves.

The cheesecake bars were sold in clear plastic packages. They have the PLU number 240801. They were sold between May 2017 and January 12, 2018. They were sold in these locations: 55 Welles St, Glastonbury, CT; 40 Railroad St, Andover, MA; 808 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA; 200 Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge, MA; 340 River St, Cambridge, MA; 327 Russell St, Hadley, MA; 990 Iyannough Rd, Hyannis, MA; 536 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury, MA; and 151 Sockanosset Cross Rd, Cranston, RI.

If you purchased these products and cannot eat them because of the respective allergens, you can throw them away. Or you can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
