Two Products Recalled for Undeclared Allergens: Egg, Gluten, and Milk

Two products have been recalled for undeclared allergens. Basil Pesto Aioli is recalled for undeclared egg, and waffles are recalled for undeclared gluten and milk. No illnesses have been reported in connection with either recall.

The first recall is for Stonewall Kitchen Basil Pesto Aioli, for undeclared egg. Egg is one of the major food allergens, and anyone who eats this product and is allergic to egg could have a serious reaction.

The recalled product has a different label for the case and the individual units. Both have an Enjoy By date of 28 Sep 2019. The UPC number on the case is 7 11381 31752 5 and it is labeled as Stonewall Kitchen Basil Pesto Aioli, 10.25 ounce, 12 pack. The individual units are marked as Stonewall Kitchen Basil Pesto, 8 ounce, with UPC number 7 11381 03060 8, packaged in a 10.25 ounce glass jar.

The case package is correctly labeled as Basil Pesto Aioli, but the units may have an incorrect label of Basil Pesto on the jar that does not declare egg as an ingredient. The product was shipped starting on Monday April 23, 2018. The company shipped 732 units to 38 wholesalers.

The second recall is for 1,584 cases of Van’s Gluten Free Waffles, recalled for undeclared gluten and milk, two of the major food allergens. The products were distributed solely to food retailers in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

The waffles have lot code date of A640234710–WL2, BEST BY AUG 22, 2018 and UPC number 8994730206. The product was ordered and shipped to retail customers as Van’s Belgian HS WF, Item number 30201, Product Lot #A640234710–WL2, BEST BY AUG 22, 2018. The affected retail packages are labeled as Van’s Gluten Free Original, Item number 30206, Product Lot #A640234710–WL2, BEST BY AUG 22, 2018. No other Van’s branded products are affected by this voluntary recall. Van’s Gluten Free retail packages with a code containing WL1 are not subject to recall.

If you bought these products and cannot eat the allergens listed, don’t eat them. Discard them, or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
