New Seasons Potato Salad and Laxmi Dried Apricot Recalled

Two products have been recalled because they contain allergens that are not declared on the label. The products are New Seasons Market Bacon Shallot Potato Salad, and Laxmi Dried Apricot. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in either recall.

The first recalled product is New Seasons Market Bacon Shallot Potato Salad, for undeclared eggs, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to or sensitive to eggs could have a serious reaction if they eat this product.

The mislabeled potato salad was sold at three New Seasons Market locations in Portland, Oregon: Mountain Park, Hawthorne, and University Park. The salad was sold from the deli case to customer specifications. The potato salad was packed into plastic deli containers, with a shelf life of 5 days from purchase. The recalled product has Pack on Dates of May 16, 2019 to May 21, 2019, and all Sell By Dates up to and including May 26, 2019.

The second recalled product is Laxmi Dried Apricot, sold by House of Spices (India). It may contain undeclared sulfites. Anyone who is allergic to sulfites could have a serious reaction if they eat this product.

The apricots were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail order. The product is packaged in a 7 ounce (200 gram) clear plastic package, with yellow, green, and red colors and the Laxmi Logo. The UPC number on the apricots isĀ 2324617054.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs found that the sulfite-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not list sulfites on the label. Production has been suspended until the company and the FDA are sure that the problem has been corrected.

If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to the respective allergens, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
