QQ Fish Fish Cakes and Balls Recalled For Undeclared Egg

Great One Trading is recalling QQ fish fish cakes and fish balls for undeclared egg, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to egg could develop a serious allergic reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.

The recalled products were sold in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. They are QQ Fish Mushroom Fish Ball in 200 gram packages. The UPC number on that product is 8 886325 910123, and the code on the package is EXP: 01/19/2020. Also recalled is QQ Fish Tofu Style Fried Fish Cake, also sold in 200 gram packages. The UPC number on that product is 8 886325 910116, and the code is EXP: 01/19/2020. You can see pictures of product labels at the FDA web site.

The recall was initiated after the company found that product containing egg was not revealed on the packaging. This was caused by a mislabeling error by the manufacturer.

If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to egg, don’t eat them. Throw them away in a secure garbage can, or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.

Symptoms of food allergies can range from mild, including tingling of the mouth, lips, and tongue, to severe, including difficulty breathing and swelling of the throat. Anyone experiencing these symptoms should see a doctor.
