Some RAGÚ Pasta Sauces Recalled For Foreign Material

Mizkan America is voluntarily recalling some production codes of some flavors and sizes of RAGÚ pasta sauces because they may contain foreign materials, i.e. plastic fragments. This poses a choking hazard. No reports of consumer injuries have been received by the facility.

The recalled products are:

  • RAGÚ® Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion packaged in 45 ounce containers. The cap code on the product is JUN0620YU2 and the best use by date is JUN0620YU2
  • RAGÚ® Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion packed in 66 ounce containers. The cap code on the product is JUN0520YU2 and the best use by date is JUN0520YU2
  • RAGÚ® Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion in 66 ounce jars. The cap code on the product is JUN0620YU2 and the best by date is JUN0620YU2.
  • RAGÚ® World World Style Traditional packed in 66 ounce jars. The cap code on the product is JUN0420U2 and the best use by date is JUN0420YU2
  • RAGÚ® Old World Style Meat packaged in 66 ounce containers. The cap code is JUN0520YU2 and the best use by date is JUN0520YU2.

The recall is limited to these specific pasta sauces with these specific production codes. They were distributed nationwide at the retail level.

The sauces were produced between June 4 and June 8 2019. The company believes that most of this production run is in its control, but some cases of the above ve sauces were shipped to customers recently.

If you purchased any of these products with those specific codes, don’t use them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
