Teton Waters Ranch Sausage Recalled For Foreign Material

Kent Quality Foods of Grand Rapids, Michigan is recalling about 48,681 pounds of ready-to-eat Teton Waters Ranch Sausage prodders made with beef because they may be contaminated with foreign material, more specifically pieces of flexible pink rubber. This can pose a choking hazard. No reports of adverse reactions or injuries have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The recalled sausages were packaged on June 17, 2019 and June 20, 2019. The recalled product is: 36-once packages containing three 12 ounce individually wrapped pieces of “TETON WATERS RANCH COOKED UNCURED POLISH SAUSAGE MADE WITH BEEF” with Use/Freeze By dates of SEP 16 2019 or Use/Freeze By SEP 19 2019. This product has the establishment number “EST. 5694” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection. These sausages were shipped to retail stores in California and Utah.

The firm has received two complaints of extraneous materials from retailers on July 17, 2019 and July 18, 2019, which prompted the recall. FSIS thinks that some of this product could be frozen in consumers’ home freezers.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

FSIS is conducting retail effectiveness checks to make sure that this product is not available to consumers. They also want to make sure that all customers have been informed about the recall. If it becomes available, the retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website.
