Al Kabeer fish fillets and sticks are being recalled because of ineligible importation. They were produced in the United Arab Emirates, a country that is not eligible to export siluriformes fish (catfish) into the United States. No reports of adverse reactions have been received to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Shan Distribution Network of Carol Stream, Illinois.
About 5,084 pounds of these frozen fish products are included in the recall. They were produced in December 2025. They have use before dates in June 2027. You can see more pictures of the products at the USDA website. They are:
13.75 ounce boxes containing Al Kabeer spicy “Zing Fish Fillets Breaded Partially Cooked Swai Fish Fillets”
10.58 ounce boxes containing Al Kabeer “Fish Sticks Breaded Swai Fish”
330 gram boxes containing Al Kabeer “Breaded Fish Fillets”
These products do not have an establishment number or a USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The problem was discovered during routine FSIS inspection activities.
If you bought these products, do not eat them. You can throw them away in a secure trash can with a tight fitting lid, after first double bagging or wrapping them so other people can’t see them, or you can take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
