Fontanini Pork Sausage Links Recalled For Plastic Pieces

Fontanini Pork Sausage Links are being recalled for possible foreign material contamination in the form of hard pieces of clear plastic. No confirmed reports of injuries have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this product. The recalling firm is Fontanini Foods of McCook, Illinois.

Fontanini Pork Sausage Links Recalled For Plastic Pieces

About 2,320 pounds of this raw, frozen pork breakfast sausage is included in the recall. The sausage was produced on June 23, 2026. The recalled item is 10 pound cardboard box cases containing Fontanini Pork Sausage Links with Item 393 printed on the box. “Packed on 6/23/2026” is printed on the shipping label.

This item has the establishment number EST. 6944 stamped inside the USDA mark of inspection. The sausages were shipped to distributors in the states of California, Florida, Michigan, and Nevada to be served in food service establishments, including restaurants.

The recall was triggered when the firm received two consumer complaints about clear, hard plastic found in the sausages. FSIS is concerned that this sausage may be in restaurant freezers. Please check to see if you have this item in your establishment. If you do, do not eat it, serve it, or sell it to others.

You can throw the sausages away in a secure trash bin after first double bagging them so other people can’t see them, or you can contact your distributor to arrange a return and a refund.
