No reports of injury or illness have been received by the company to date in connection with the consumption of this product. The recalling firm is G. L. Mezzetta Inc. of American Canyon, California.
The recalled product is Mezzetta Golden Greek Peperoncini (Medium Heat), or Greek Peppers that are packaged in a 32 ounce container. The SKU number for this item is 10106328, and the lot number printed on the product label is 720106. No picture of the recalled product was provided in the notice. The company has identified customers who received product from this lot and is working with them to isolate and remove the product from sale.
Please check your pantry or refrigerator to see if you bought this item. If you purchased these peppers, from that lot, do not eat it. You can throw the container away in a secure garbage can with a tight fitting lid after first double bagging or wrapping it so other people can’t see it, or you can take it back to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
The company says it will update consumers when it has more information about this issue.
