Avon Heights Mushrooms Recalling Fresh Spinach

Avon Heights Mushrooms is recalling as many as 15,000 packages of some brands of fresh spinach. E. coli bacteria was found during a routine sampling of a package of Better Brand 10-ounce spinach.

  • Krisp Pak 10-ounce bags
  • Better Brand 10-ounce bags
  • Avon Heights 4-2.5 pound bags
  • Products have “best if used by” code of DEC16 and codes DP 340 and T691

No illnesses have been associated with this product. Avon Heights is cooperating with the FDA in this investigation.

If you have one of these bags of spinach in your home, discard it and according to Avon Heights Mushrooms: “write to the company address on the package for a refund. Refunds will only be given for the products with the above specified codes.”
