Chicken of the Sea Tuna Recalled for Undeclared Soy

Tri-Union Seafoods LLC is recalling Chicken of the Sea Tuna solid white albacore in water because the product label does not state “contains soy”. Soy is one of the major food allergens. There have been no reported illnesses in connection with this product or the recall. Anyone with a soy allergy or severe sensitivity could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume the tuna.

The product is Chicken of the Sea brand 7-ounce solid white albacore tuna in water sold as a multi-pack. It was distributed in October and November 2012. The UPC number is 0 48000 00097 2 and best by dates between 10/01/16 through 11/09/16. The tuna was sold at Costco stores in Arizona, California, Washington, Utah, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada.
