Kradjian Imp. Co. Extending Recall of Cedar Tree Cheese

Kradjian Imp. Co. is expanding the recall of Cedar Tree brand Tresse and Shinglish cheeses to include more markets. The cheeses may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. These products were recalled in several other notices.

The product details are:

  • Cedar brand Tresse firm unripened cheese in 16 ounce containers, delivered before November 13, 2011 with UPC number 78546 01000
  • Cedar brand Shinglish firm unripened cheese in 16 ounce containers, delivered before November 13, 2011 with UPC number 78546 10000

The cheeses were manufactured and recalled by Fromagerie Marie Cade in Quebec, Canada. The vacuum-packed cheeses have the picture of a green cedar tree.

This is the latest in a string of recalls for these products. The original recall was for cheese and dairy products in Canada in November and December 2011. The recall expanded on December 19, 2011. The recall was expanded again on December 26, 2011 to include California markets and again on December 29, 2011 to include markets in Massachusetts.

The recalled cheeses were distributed in Mediterranean specialty markets in:

  • Arizona
  • Northern California
  • Southern California
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Nevada
  • Oklahoma
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Washington state
