US Foods Reports Michael Foods Has Issued Egg Recall

EggsDistributor US Foods has issued an alert that Michael Foods Inc. of Minnetonka, Minnesota has put out a Class I voluntary recall on three lots of Papetti’s Brand hard-cooked eggs in 25 pound tubs.

The eggs were distributed to the food service sector during the second week of January, 2012. Testing revealed the “possible presence” of Listeria. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of this product.

  • Lot code 1362W
  • Lot code 1363W
  • Lot code 1364W
  • Use-by dates of February 11, 12, and 13 2012

The alert from Michael Foods said that none of the eggs were sold directly to customers, but were distributed to vendors, who have been contacted. The FSIS and the FDA do not have any recall information about these eggs on their websites.
