Veggie Patch Recall For Possible Listeria Official

The FDA has released information about a recall of Veggie Patch Meatless Burgers and Falafel for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. There have been no illnesses reported to date. Veggie Patch discovered the problem as part of routine product testing.

The products are 9 ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked Veggie Patch The Ultimate Meatless Burger with use-by date of January 12, 2013. The product has a UPC number of 6-10129-00211-5 on the back of the package. Also recalled are 9 ounce trays of refrigerated, fully cooked Veggie Patch Falafel with a use by date of January 15, 2013. The product has a UPC number of 6-10129-06619-3 on the back of the package. The Veggie Burger product was distributed for sale as of November 21, 2012 in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Indiana, Wisconsin, Virginia, New Jersey, and Delaware. The Falafal was distributed natiponwide.
