belVita Breakfast Biscuits Recalled for Foreign Materials

Mondelēz Global LLC is recalling belVita Breakfast Biscuits in two varieties because they may contain flexible metal mesh fragments caused by a faulty screen at a supplier’s facility. The products were distributed in the United States and Puerto Rico. There have been consumer complaints about the problem, but no word on any injuries.

The recalled products are belVita Breakfast Biscuit Chocolate Variety in 1.76 ounce packages, with UPC number 044000 03192 3 and best by dates of 12 Jan 13 – 29 Sep 13. Also recalled are Chocolate Variety in 8.8 ounce packages with UPC number 0 44000 03194 7 and best by dates of 21 Jan 13 – 29 Sep 13. Chocolate Variety in 14.08 size is also recalled, with UPC number 0 44000 03163 3 and best by dates of 16 May 13 – 13 Sep 13. The Apple Cinnamon Variety in 1.76 ounce packages is also recalled, with UPC number of 0 44000 02824 4 and best by dates of 8 Oct 12 – 2 Sep 13. Finally, the Apple Cinnamon Variety in 8.8 ounce packages is recalled with UPC number 0 44000 02825 1 and best by dates of 8 Oct 12 – 2 Sep 13.
