Boba Direct Recalls BD Flavored Powders for Undeclared Milk

MangoPowderBoba Direct (BD) is recalling several types of their BD Flavored Powders for undeclared milk. Anyone with a severe sensitivity or allergy to milk could have a serious or life threatening reaction if they consume this product. The powders contain sodium caseinate and lactose for which milk, one of the major food allergens, is the source.

The flavors recalled include Almond, Avocado, Banana, Blueberry, Café Latte, Cherry, Chocolate, Coconut, Honeydew, Lavender, Lychee, Mango, Matcha Green Tea, Milk Tea, Passionfruit, Peppermint, Pineapple, Red Bean, Strawberry, Taro, Vanilla and Watermelon. The powders were sold in 2.2 pound plastic bags. They were distributed from December 26, 2012 to January 4, 2013 to cafes, restaurants, and smoothie shops throughout the country.

The packages from the manufacturer were mislabeled. There have not been any reports of illness or adverse health effects associated with the consumption of these products.
