Woodstock Recalls Tamari Almonds for Undeclared Soy

Woodstock® is recalling their Tamari Almonds because of an incorrect back label that resulted in an undeclared allergen, soy, in the product. Soy is one of the eight major food allergens. Those with a severe sensitivity or allergy to soy could have a life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The product is Woodstock All Natural Tamari Almonds in 7.5 pound packages. The back of the package has incorrect information, including Nutrition Facts, Ingredients, and the UPC number of 0-42563-00838-3. One code date is affected by this recall: Best By 10/24/13, Lot 12298. The product was distributed to retailers in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and District of Columbia.

Soy is in the product, but the incorrect label doesn’t list soy in the ingredients statement. If you are allergic to soy and purchased this product, do not eat it.
