Breaded Chicken Breast and Tender Products Recalled

Prime Pak Foods of Georgia is recalling 23,250 pounds of fully cooked breaded chicken breast and tender products for misbranding and undeclared eggs, milk, and wheat. Those ingredients are three of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to those products could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the chicken products. No reports of adverse reactions have been received to date.

Prime Pak Chicken Breast RecallThe products were sold to hotels, restaurants, and institutions nationwide. They include two 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of “Wegmans Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Strips” with product code “77064”. Also recalled are two 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of “Wegmans Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Strips” with product code “77065”, and two 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of “Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Tender” with product code “77409”. Finally, two 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of “Wegmans Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Fillets” are recalled, with product code “77425”.

The products were mislabeled by Prime Pak Foods and were not sold at Wegmans or any retail store. They were made from June 5, 2013 through Mary 21, 2014. The products have the establishment number “P-9165” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

If you are allergic to wheat, milk, and/or eggs, do not consume these products. Consult a doctor if you have an allergic reaction to these products.
