Asian America Fish Skin Crackers in four flavors are being recalled because they were made in China, a country that is not eligible to export ready to eat siluriformes products to the Untied States. There are no confirmed protests of illness or injury reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Asian American Trading of Hayward, California.
These products were prepared from Pangasius fish and produced in the People’s Republic of China, a country that is not eligible to export these items to the U.S. The recalled products include:
50 gram plastic bag packages containing “CRISPY FISH SKIN CRACKERS, SALTED EGG.”
50 gram plastic bag packages containing “FISH SKIN CRACKERS, SPICY FLAVOUR”
50 gram plastic bag packages containing “UN CHI CRISP FISH SKIN, Wasabi Flavour”
50 gram plastic bag packages containing “UN CHI CRISP FISH SKIN, Laver Flavour.”
They were shipped to retail locations in California. The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products in commerce. You can see more pictures of the recalled items at the USDA web site.
FSIS is concerned that these products may be in consumers’ pantries. Please check to see if you purchased any of these snacks. If you did, do not eat them. You can throw them away in a secure trash can with a tight fitting lid after first double bagging or wrapping them so others can’t see them, or you can take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
