From Pâté Wet Dog Food in two flavors is being recalled for possible foreign material contamination in the form of metal pieces. This poses a choking hazard to dogs, and they can also experience vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort. Consuming metal pieces can also cause serious health issues, including lacerations in the mouth and GI tract. No reports of illness have been received by the company to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Fromm Family Foods of Mequon, Wisconsin.
The recalled products are Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet Dog Food that is packaged in 12.2 ounce cans with a brown label and gold printing. The UPC number that is stamped on the product label is 072705118700, and the lot code is EP2A3306 551006. The best by date for this product is 032029 (March 20 ,2029). There are 3,852 cases of this dog food included in the recall.
Also recalled is Fromm Diner Classics Milo’s Meatloaf Pâté Wet Dog Food that is packaged in 12.5 ounce cans with a green label and white and red printing. The UPC number for this product is 072705132324, the lot code is EP2A3306 551029, and the best by date is 03202029 (March 20, 2029). There are 1,973 cases of this product included in the recall. These items were sold at neighborhood pet stores and online outlets in the United States and Canada. There are no other Fromm products included in this recall. The recall was triggered after the company received complaints about metal in the product.
If you bought these products, do not feed them to your dog. You can throw them away in a secure trash can after double bagging or wrapping them, or you can take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
