America’s Best Cumin Powder Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

America’s Best brand “(Jeera) Cumin Powder” is being recalled for undeclared cumin. Consumers who are allergic or have a sensitivity to peanuts should not use this product as they risk a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction if they do. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall.

cumin-recall-america's-bestThe recalled product was packaged and distributed by Patel Grocery located at 5303 4th Ave in Brooklyn. The  “(Jeera) Cumin Powder” was packaged in an uncoded, 14 oz (400 gm) plastic bag. The product was sold at various retail stores in Brooklyn.

The problem was discovered during routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
