Lebanese Butcher Slaughter Products Recalled for Lack of Inspection

Lebanese Butcher Slaughter of Virginia is recalling 902 pounds of beef, goat, and lamb products because they were misbranded and further processed without the benefit of full inspection. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Recall SignageFour hundred and six pounds of beef cuts in unlabeled plastic bags, and 496 pounds of lamb or goat cuts in unlabeled plastic bags are being recalled. They were slaughtered under inspection on March 27, 2015. They were processed again without being inspected and sold directly to consumers from the facility’s Warrrenton location on March 28 and March 29, 2015. They may or may not have the establishment number “Est. 31959” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered when an inspector noticed that some inspected carcasses were missing from the freezer. They had been processed and sold over the weekend without inspection.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
