Navajo Pride Flour Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Navajo Pride of Farmington, New Mexico is recalling is bleached, all-purpose flour because it may be contaminated with Food  bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date. Flour is a raw product and can be contaminated with pathogenic bacteria. An E. coli outbreak in 2009 was linked to the flour in Nestle cookie dough. Never use flour in a recipe that will not be baked or cooked.

Recall SignageThe recalled product is sold in 5-pound cloth bags, 26-pound cloth bags, and 50-pound paper bags. It has lot number 075B110064 and an expiration date of March 16, 2016. The flour was sold in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah.

If you purchased this flour, do not eat it or use it in recipes. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund. Then wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

The symptoms of a Salmonella infection include nausea, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. If you have experienced these symptoms and consumed this flour, please see your doctor.
