Vinh Hoan USA Recalls Fish for Import Non Compliance

Vinh Hoan USA is recalling about 84,000 pounds of imported frozen Swai fillet products that were distributed into commerce without meeting federal requirements. These fish were imported from Vietnam without meeting FSIS regulatory requirements for residue sampling and testing. No confirmed reports of adverse reactions have been received to date.

The recalled products are 15-pound cases containing “MEKONG MASTER Frozen Swai Fillet,” with lot code VN 147 VI 1355 and “BEST BEFORE” dates of “12162018,” “12172018” and “12192018;” 15-pound cases containing “MEKONG MASTER Frozen Swai Fillet,” with lot code VN 147 VI 1351 and “BEST BEFORE” dates of “12232018,” “12242018” and “12252018;” and 15-pound cases containing “MEKONG MASTER Frozen Swai Fillet,” with lot code VN 147 VI 1354 and “BEST BEFORE” dates of “01052019,” “01062019” and “01072019.” These products do not have a USDA mark of inspection. They were sold in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.

If you bought these imported seafood products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package, or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
