Labrada Nutrition of Houston, Texas is recalling some lots of LeanPro8 Protein Powder for undeclared egg, which is one of the eight major food allergens. People who are allergic to egg could have a serious reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
LeanPro8 was sold nationwide through retail sales and through mail orders. It comes in 2.2 pound and 5 pound tubs. The lot numbers are marked on the bottom of the product.
The recalled products include Lean Pro 8 Vanilla 2,268g (5 pound) Tub with UPC number 710779112834 and lot number 073437. The following products also have that UPC number: Lean Pro 8 Vanilla 2,268 g (5 pound) tub with lot number 073447; Lean Pro 8 Vanilla 2,268 g (5 pound) tub with lot number 073457; Lean Pro 8 Vanilla 2,268 g (5 pound) tub with lot number 073467; and Lean Pro 8 Vanilla 2,268 g (5 pound) tub with lot number 073477.
Also recalled is Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 2,268 (5 pound) tub with UPC number 710779112841) and lot number 083747. The following products have that UPC number as well: Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 2,268 g (5 pound) tub with lot number 083757; Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 2,268 g (5 pound) tub with lot number 083767; Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 2,268 (5 pound) tub with lot number 083777; Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 2,268 (5 pound) tub with lot number 038748; and Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 2,268 (5 pound) tub with lot number with lot number 038758. Finally, Lean Pro 8 Chocolate 1,000 g (2.2 pound) tub with UPC number 710779113411 and lot number 017598 is recalled, along with Lean Pro 8 Cookies & Cream 1,000 g (2.2 pound) tub with UPC number 710779113435 and lot number 083707.
A state inspection found the issue: the egg-containing product was sold in packaging that didn’t reveal the egg. An incorrect formula was used during production.
If you are allergic to egg, do not consume these products. Discard them or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.
