Cookie Dough Cafe Recalls Chocolate Chip Bars For Undeclared Peanuts

Juju Bakes, LLC, doing business as The Cookie Dough Cafe of Bloomington, Illinois is recalling 15 cases of Chocolate Chip Chilled Gourmet Edible Cookie Dough Bars because they may contain peanuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to peanuts could have a life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat this product. No reactions have been reported to the company to date in connection with this recall.

The Cookie Dough Cafe Chocolate Chip Chilled Gourmet Cookie Dough Bar was distributed in Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and West Virginia via Lipari Foods at select retail stores. The recalled product is packaged in a 1.6 ounce, white and turquoise package marked with lot # 19177. The expiration date on the product is 01/22/20, and the UPC number isĀ 850967006531. No other lots or expiration dates of this product are affected by this recall.

The issue was brought to the attention of the company after an employee tasted peanut butter in a bar that was labeled chocolate chip. That employee is not allergic to peanuts and did not have a reaction. The problem was apparently caused by a temperature breakdown in the company’s production and packaging process.

If you purchased this specific product with these specific expiration and lot numbers and UPC number, and are allergic to peanuts, don’t eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
