MawMaw’s Chicken Pies Recalled For Undeclared Allergens

MawMaw’s Chicken Pies of North Carolina is recalling an undetermined amount of chicken pie and meatloaf product because they contain milk and soy, two of the major food allergens, that are not declare don the label. Anyone with allergies to those ingredients, or anyone who is lactose intolerant, could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. There are no confirmed reported of allergic reactions or adverse effects due to the consumption of these products.

These not ready to eat products were produced between September 17, 2019 to October 16, 2019. They have a one year shelf life. The recalled products include:

  • 10 ounce shrink wrapped packages containing “MawMaw’s Chicken Pies NO VEGGIES” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.
  • 10 ounce shrink wrapped packages containing “MawMaw’s Chicken Pies WITH VEGGIES” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.
  • 10 ounce shrink wrapped packages containing “MawMaw’s Chicken Pies NO VEGGIES MAWMAW’S KICKIN’ CHICKEN” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.
  • 33 ounce shrink wrapped packages containing “MawMaw’s Chicken Pies NO VEGGIES” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.
  • 33 ounce shrink wrapped packages containing “MawMaw’s Chicken Pies WITH VEGGIES” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.
  • 33 ounce shrink wrapped packages containing “MawMaw’s Chicken Pies NO VEGGIES MAWMAW’S KICKIN’ CHICKEN” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.
  • 1 pound shrink wrapped, aluminum tray containing “MawMaw’s Meatloaf” with expiration dates ranging from 9/17/19 to 10/16/20.

These recalled products have the establishment number “EST. 46456” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations in North Carolina. The problem was discovered by FSIS inspectors during routine label verification activities. You can see pictures of product labels at the USDA web site.

If you bought any of these products and cannot eat milk and/or soy, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
