Kayem Foods is recalling meat and poultry products for possible temperature abuse. In other words, these perishable items were held at temperatures that were inside the danger zone of 40°F to 140°F, where bacteria can double in number in 20 minutes. No confirmed reports of illness have been received by the company to date in connection with the consumption of these items. The recalling firm is Kayem Foods of Chelsea, Massachusetts.

You can see the long list of recalled products, along with the UPC number, package size, SKU number, lot number, and expiration dates at the USDA web site. About 1,584,361 pounds of these items are included in the recall. They were produced from March 31, 2026 to October 7, 2026.
The recalled products include franks, hot dogs, bologna, kielbasa, brats, bacon, corned beef, hot ham, and other items. They are mostly Kayem Foods brand.
These items all have the establishment numbers “EST. M/P 7839,” “EST. P 20935A”, and “EST. M 9520” that are stamped inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped nationwide to retail and foodservice locations as well as to Hong Kong.
The recall was triggered when the firm received a customer complaint about warm product temperatures at the point of delivery on October 1, 2026. The company investigated and found that they had stored ready to eat products in a warehouse cooler that had temperature deviations.
If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them and do not sell or serve them to others. Even if they are heated to a safe final internal temperature, some pathogens can produce toxins while they grow that are not destroyed by heat. You can throw them away in a secure trash can, or you can take them back to the store where you bought them, or contact your distributor, for a full refund.
