Prime Line guanciale (dry cured pork jowl) and Ferrarini USA guanciale are being recalled for possible Listeria contamination. These products were sold under the Prime Line name and also the Ferrarini USA brand. There have been no confirmed reports of illness received by the company to date in connection with the consumption of these items. The recalling firm is Prime Line Distributors of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
About 1,524 pounds of these products are included in the recall. The imported ready to eat guanciale were produced at Est. 1937L Bome SRL in Italy on May 21, 2026, and imported into the U.S. on various dates in July 2026. You can see more pictures of the recalled products at the USA web site.
The recalled Prime Line products are:
Various weight cardboard cases containing two pieces of individually vacuumed packed “PRIME LINE DISTRIBUTORS, INC. GUANCIALE PORK JOWL PRODUCT OF ITALY” with “LOT: 263311US” and “BEST IF USE BY DATE: 05.16.27” printed on the label.
Various weight individually vacuumed packaged “GUANCIALE PORK JOWL PRODUCT OF ITALY” with “LOT: 263311US” and “BEST IF USE BY: 05.16.27” printed on the label. The product has an additional label with “DOK GUANCIALE” on the packaging.
The recalled Ferrarini USA products are:
Various weight cardboard cases containing two pieces of individually vacuumed packed “GUANCIALE PORK JOWL PRODUCT OF ITALY” with “LOT: 263311US” and “BEST IF USE BY DATE: 05.16.27” printed on the label.
Various weight individually vacuumed packaged “FERRARINI GUANCIALE DRY-CURED PORK JOWL” with “LOT: 263311US” and “BEST IF USE BY DATE: 05.16.27” printed on the label.
These items have the establishment number IT 1937 L CE stamped inside the Italian mark of inspection or printed on the case label. The Prime Line products were distributed to food service and retail locations in Florida. The Ferrarini USA items were shipped to distributors and food service locations in these states: California, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.
If you purchased any of these items, do not eat them and do not sell or serve them to others. You can throw them away in a secure trash can after double bagging them so other people can’t see them, or you can contact your distributor for a refund.
If you did eat any of these items, monitor your health for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
