Gills Onions, LLC of California is recalling 2,360 pounds of diced red onions because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

  • Sold in 7 ounce (198 gram) clear plastic clamshell
  • Lot code 51RDA1A2119 on the UPC label
  • Use-by dates May 14, 15, and 17 2012
  • In Canada, the UPC number is 643550 00045 0
  • In the U.S., the UPC number is 643550 00041 2
  • UPC numbers may be on other products; use the Lot code to identify recalled onions
  • Product sold to foodservice customers was packaged in 5 pound clear plastic bags, expiration date of May 14 or 15, 2012. Lot code 51RDA1A2119 stamped on bag and box

The expiration date for the products has passed, and no illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of this product.
