Luca Chicken Empanadas Recalled for Undeclared MSG

Global Culinary Investments is recalling 1,331 pounds of chicken empanadas because they contain monosodium glutamate (MSG) that is not declared on the label. There have been no reports of injury or illness associated with the consumption of this product.

Food RecallThe product recalled is 10 pound bulk cases of “Luca Chicken Empanada”. Each case has 50 count bags of the product. The identifying case code is 10853349004002. The establishment number “P-44923” is inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were made from September 4, 2012 through November 21, 2012, with best by dates between March 4, 2013, and May 21, 2013. The cases were distributed for institutional use in the Houston, Texas area.
