In Canada, Tea Recalled for Possible Salmonella Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling TEGA brand tea because it may contain Salmonella bacteria. The recalling firm is Nu-Tea Company of Abbotsford, British Columbia. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

The tea is Organic Lemon Hibiscus Green Rooibos Herbal Tea. Each package contains 24 tea bags (48 g/1.69 ounce). The UPC number is 6 64322 10406 0, and best before dates are 2014FE01, 2014MR27, and 2014MR28. The tea as distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.
