Lamb Feed Recalled for High Copper Levels

ADM Alliance Nutrition Inc. is recalling lamb feed because it has high levels of copper. Copper toxicity in sheep can cause death. Symptoms include lethargy, anemia, extreme thirst, diarrhea, weakness, and jaundice.

The recall is for 50 pound bags of MoorMan’s® ShowTec® 18 Elite Lamb DC. The product number is 80939MPS. The three lot numbers for the recalled products are BF23512, BF27812, and BF29312. The feed was distributed between August 24, 2012 and November 21, 2012. It was sold through distributors and purchased directly from Alliance Nutrition.

Two sheep died, which led to an investigation that found the problem. The feed was shipped to distributors and customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. If you have purchased this feed, return it to the distributor or call Alliance Nutrition for a refund. For questions and more information, call 260-824-0079 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm ET.
