Lion Pavilion Recalls Ginger Slices for Undeclared Sulfites

Lion Pavilion of New York is recalling Grassplot Ginger Slices because they contain undeclared sulfites. Anyone who is sensitive to sulfites runs the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The ginger slices are sold in a 100 gram (3.5 ounce) clear plastic bottle. The product is uncoded and was distributed nationwide. The ginger slices are a product of China. Routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors found the presence of sulfites in the product. Just 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving can cause severe reactions, including anaphylactic shock, in some people with asthma.

If you purchased this product and are sensitive to sulfites, return it to the place of purchase for a refund. For questions, contact the company at 718-326-7718.
