Roasted Chicken Recalled in Canada for Listeria Monocytogenes

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Lilydale Inc. are recalling Lilydale brand oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breast because it may be contaminated with Listeria. No illnesses have been reported to date, but the illness caused by this bacteria can take up to 70 days to appear.

The recalled product is Lilydale Oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breast in 400 gram containers. The UPC number isĀ 0 65843 83104 4 and the code on the product is Best before 2015 AL 28.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund. Then clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution, since Listeria can grow at refrigerator temperatures.

If you ate this product, watch yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. They include fever, muscle aches, headache, nausea, and diarrhea. If you do get sick, see your doctor as soon as possible.
