Sabor Latino Beef and Chicken Products Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

Sentry Food Solutions of Georgia is recalling 14,130 pounds of chicken and beef products because they may contain undeclared peanut, one of the major food allergens, not listed on the label. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanut could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Sabor Latino Chicken Peanut RecallThe recalled products are 7,770 pounds of 3 bags of 5 pounds in 15 pound cases of “Sabor Latino Pepper Steak” with packaging codes “11/24/15, 11/26/15, 12/3/15, 12/9/15, 12/12/15, 12/16/15, 1/6/15 or 1/7/16”. Also recalled is 2,160 pounds of 3 bags of 5 pounds in 15 pound cases of “Sabor Latino Beef & Potato Stew with packaging codes “11/24/15, 12/5/15 or 12/10/15”. Then, 2,160 pounds of three bags of five pounds in 15 pound cases of “Sabor Latino Chicken Fricassee” with packaging codes “11/20/15, 11/26/15, 12/4/15, 12/9/15 or 1/6/16” are also recalled. Finally, 2,040 pounds of 3 bags of 5 pounds in 15 pound cases of “Sabor Latino Beef Picadillo” with packaging codes “11/24/15 or 12/12/15” are recalled.

The products have the establishment number “P-19031” or “Est. 19031” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were sold in Florida for institutional use. The problem was discovered when Sentry’s spice supplier told them that cumin in a spice mix may have been contaminated with peanut allergens.
