The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is investigating Salmonella Virchow infections associated with the consumption of these products. At this time, the agency has not released information about how many people are sick or where they occurred.

The company has stated that every lot of the shakes tested negative for the presence of Salmonella prior to distribution to better health food stores and natural grocers nationwide.
