Mai Cuisine Recalls Shrimp Tempura Sushi Rolls For Undeclared Egg

Mai Cuisine of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is recalling 31 packs of Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll and 32 packs of Spicy Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll because they may contain undeclared egg, one of the major food allergens. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

These products are packed in clear lid containers, with labels showing the product name, ingredient, and best buy date. The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll is sold in 9.1 ounce packages, with UPC numberĀ 8 12824 01526 5. The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll is sold in 8 ounce packages, with UPC number 8 12824 01525 8. They have the “Hand-Crafted Date” of 6/15/2019 and Best by Date of 6/17/2019.

These products were sold form Mai Sushi counters inside New Seasons Market stores in the Portland, Oregon area. You can see the addresses of the affected stores at the FDA web site.

The products only have a shelf life of one day, but the recall is being issued by the firm to ensure customer safety. If you are allergic to egg, do not eat these products. Throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
