bio aaa Advance Hand Sanitizer Recalled For Undeclared Methanol

AAA Cosmética, S.A. de C.V. is voluntarily recalling all lots of bio aaa Advance Hand Sanitizer currently in distribution throughout the United States because it may contain methanol, or wood alcohol, that is toxic and not declared on the label. Anyone who uses this product on their hands can suffer nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, blurred vision, and headache.

Drinking this product, either as an alcohol substitute or accidental ingestion can lead to permanent blindness, seizures, coma, damage to the nervous system, or death. No adverse reactions or complaints have been reported to the company to date in association with this recalled product.

The recalled product is bio aaa Advance Hand Sanitizer and it is sold in 480 ml plastic bottles. You can see the long list of lot numbers that are recalled at the FDA web site. All of the recalled bottles have the expiration date of April 2022.

The product can be identified by its image. The hand sanitizer was distributed nationwide in the United States starting in April 2020.

If you purchased this product with that expiration date and one of the listed code numbers, stop using it immediately. Throw it away in accordance with your city’s hazardous waste disposal directions, or take it back to the store where you purchased if for a full refund.

Or, AAA Cosmética is arranging for refund and destruction of recalled products. You can mail the sanitizer to AAA Cosmetic at the address shown at the FDA web site.
