Bettergoods Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine is being recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Two lots of this product are included in this recall. It was sold nationwide in Walmart stores. No illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this product. The recalling firm is Gias Foods, Inc.
The recalled product is bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine that is packaged in a 22 ounce yellow plastic bag. This product is sold frozen. The UPC number that is stamped on the label is 194346442706. The lot number is either L6079C or L6080C, and the expiration dates are 9/19/2027 or 9/20/2027. The lot number and expiration dates, along with the UPC number, are all printed on the back of the package.
The recall was triggered after routine sampling conducted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services found that the finished pasta product may contain the pathogen. The company has stopped production and distribution of this product while an investigation is being conducted.
If you purchased this product, do not eat it, even if you plan to heat it thoroughly, because of the possibility of cross-contamination. And if you heat ti in a microwave, that appliance can leave cold spots where the pathogen can survive. You can throw it away in a secure trash can after first double bagging or wrapping it so other people can’t see it, or you can take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
