Prolon Apulian Almond & Cocoa Spread is being recalled because it contains cashews, pistachios, and/or hazelnuts, or tree nuts, that are not declared on the product label. Anyone who is allergic to those ingredients could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There has been one allergic reaction reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this product. The recalling firm is L-Nutra of Culver City, California.

This product was sold through L-Nutra’s e-commerce site, ProlonLife.com, either as a direct purchase or included in some Prolon product bundles. No pictures of the recalled product were provided in the recall notice.
The recalled item is Prolon Apulian Almond & Cocoa Spread that is packaged in 8.47 ounce (240 gram) glass jars. The UPC number that is stamped on the label is 850040360530. The lot number for this product is L2755, and the expiration date is January 2, 2027. The lot number and expiration date are on the jar cap.
The recall was triggered when the company confirmed the presence of the tree nut allergens in the product that was not declared on the label. The cause is under investigation.
If you bought this item and you are allergic to cashews, pistachios, and/or hazelnuts, or tree nuts, do not eat it. You can throw it away in a secure garbage can with a tight fitting lid after first double bagging or wrapping it so other people can’t see it, or you can take it back to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
