Dried Potato Product From China Recalled for Sulfites

Strong America Ltd. is recalling a dried potato product because it contains undeclared sulfites. If anyone with a sensitivity to sulfites consumes this product they may have a serious reaction.

Product details:

  • Golden Smell brand “Dried Potato”
  • Packed in 6 ounce plastic bags
  • Product of China
  • Sold in Maine, New York, and Pennsylvania

No illnesses have been reported in connection with consumption of this product. The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors found 36 milligrams of sulfites per serving. Consumption of more than 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving can cause severe reaction in those with asthma and those sensitive to sulfites, including anaphylactic shock.
